A plan! Let me put on my slightly larger glasses!
How I felt... in the holidays: Extremely happy indeed
How my... holidays were: Amazing
Funniest thing that happened: Ooh, ermm... Video (Sarah)!
Worst thing that happened: It went too quick
Best thing that happened: I now have the most amazing bf in the world :D
What I’m looking forward to the most today: Dare i say it? ... School. I know, i know, what's wrong with me?! Well, i'm missing people. And i actually think this year might just turn out to be alright.
What I'm looking forward to the least today: Ermm... ermm... ermmm... i have no idea. I might as well just say school as well, to make you worry less for my sanity :D.
Current Obsession: (oooh, something new :D) Well, ermm... probabaly Scrubs actually, since it has now replaced 24 :(.
Well, hello yet again. Yes, i have finally posted something new. Go me. And i just want to apologise for the fact that quite a lot of my last post was a bit messed up. i have no idea what was going on. Oh, and sometimes the text above pictures just randomly disappears, so just highlight it and it'll re-appear again :). Yeah, anyway, thanks for all the comments last time - 9 :-0. I think it's the most i've ever gotten, despite the fact that one was some kind of annoying advert, and two of them were from Sarah (oh yeah, and while we're on the subject of that Sarah - what have i told you about leaving strange and just generally really disturbing comments on my blog? You're going to scare my readers off :D). And this time i'm going to do things a bit differently since a lot of people said they were constantly losing their place. I have decided to put dates on the days as well. Oh yes. So no excuses :D. Ermm.. well, enjoy!
Thursday 20th. First day off. Wow. It still hasn't hit me that there are six weeks ahead of me - six whole weeks - where i get to do absolutely anything i want, where i have no responsibilities, no work, no school... Argh, it's going to go really quick, isn't it? Yeah. Well, there's no better way to begin the first day of the holidays than to go out and watch the supposed best film of the year: Superman Returns. Hmmm... Well, i disagree. Slow. Really bad storyline. Terrible actors. Complete disappointment. The only good thing about it was Brandon Routh (the guy that actually plays superman), who hardly even got a chance to speak! So unfair. So after that, and realising i had about 10 missed calls (the first time someone calls me, and i'm in the cinema... typical), i went and met with Sophie, Rose and Elliot :D. We went up into the village, and saw Amy, Jake and Callum and then just sat around for ages and talked :D. Then Rose and i went up to buy flavoured water. Mmm... So we were standing in the queue, trying once again to get the water cheaper than it actually was by saying it was in the offer when it kind of wasn't, when Tom Mellor comes up behind us. Eww. Thankfully he didn't actually speak to us. So the guy had to call someone to check out whether it was in the offer or not. Rose and i agreed afterwards that it had to have been one of the most awkward moments of our lives. Tom Mellor, Rose, the guy serving us, and me. Complete silence for about 5 mins. Ah. Well, we finally got out of there, only to have Tom Mellor follow us and say something about a lighter and arson... After that Sophie left :(, and Rose, Elliot and me just played cricket for ages, until i had to leave (like i always do :(). And then i watched Lost. Oooooh.
Friday 21st. Sainsbury's first. Oooh. I have explained my love of going shopping in previous posts, so i shall only outline it briefly here: it, quite simply, is the easiest way to get on the nerves of absolutely everyone. Although it does end up being quite expensive, and your mum ends up buying a million things she can't even remember putting in the trolley. Hmm... i wonder how they got there! Well, then we ate cookies in the car, and i went over to the cinema, to see Stormbreaker. Just before getting out of the car, however, Niki rang me and said she couldn't make it! So i was extremely worried as to who, if anyone, had actually turned up. Well, Lucy, Henry, Kirsty and Elliot had, which was very good indeed :D! So, after talking for a while, everyone ripping their tickets (and then licking them, hmm...) "accidently", me giving the woman the wrong part, and Kirsty walking, or rather dancing, into the cinema quite embarassingly before realising there were other people there, we finally found a seat and sat down. Kirsty crawled around a lot, and shouted cheese a lot (hehe), and the film eventually started. And, btw, why has hardly anyone actually seen "The Amazing Cheese Dance"? Am i the only one?! If you have not had the pleasure of watching it, then you are truly missing out. Well, the film was pretty good. A bit kiddy (haha...), but still good. And Jimmy Carr was in it - ha! All he does he say one line, and you just have to laugh! And it wasn't even funny! After that we left to find George and friends outside. Haha. So we commented on how the supposed "lady" in the water looked a lot like Frodo, and Elliot and i had a good long chat about Garfield. Hmmm... Then we all jus randomly decided to walk home. From the cinema. Which i have never done before, surprisingly. It was very cool indeed. Elliot decided to shout "That's ASDA Price", with the actions and everything, to this lorry driver that we passed. I think he got pretty freaked out. Yeah. So then i walked with Henry for ages :D, and played with his phone. I think i may have accidently phoned someone... And then i decided to give up on wearing my uncomfortable, yet absolutely amazing shoes. I think my left foot is a whole lot bigger than the right... Hmmm... Then we hung near my house for ages, until i had to go.
Saturday 22nd. Watched 24. Argggh, so suspenseful. So addictive. So then i attempted to tidy my room, which never goes well. It usually ends up with me sitting in the middle of my room, with piles of stuff too high to climb over surrounding me on every side, and more mess than i had started off with, which is quite strange really, and probably completely impossible to acheive for anyone but me... Then there was this massive thunderstorm! So, unable to do anything other than sit around and be extremely scared, i decided to sit around and be extremely scared with Sarah, which turned out to be much more fun than it might sound. We listened to each other's mp3 players and did foot wrestling/foot dancing, which is rather hard to do really. But soooo funny. We then watched Cellular (recommended by our uncle), which was really really good.
Sunday 23rd. Continued to tidy room, since there was no other way to actually get out of it. I was saved though, by a BBQ. Thank you. It was one of those "Toyota" BBQs that are thrown every year, which are always so much fun :D. So we got there, and my dad had to walk round and say hi to everyone. We then got foood, which i was quite enjoying until my plate unexpectedly flew off, hitting my mum and then landing in a nearby bush. Seriously, that did happen. There was this massive game of snakes and ladders that i desperately wanted to play, but all the little kids beat me to it :(. There was also this giant game of jenga going on behind us, which was quite funny to watch. People were sizing it up from every angle, obviously taking it extremely seriously. It must have taken them each about 5 minutes to choose a block, and then to actually pull it out. I really can't see the appeal. So then we sat around for ages, and i had a Fab :D for the first time in ages. Wow *childhood memories come rushing back*...Those were the good times... Anyway, then there was the raffle winners, and this guy that had gone home won two things! Two! But they ended up having to give it to someone else. Awww. We then went home and watched three 24s! :-o!! And now it's over :(. How will we ever survive?!! Argh, i just don't know...
Monday 24th. Woken up, quite rudely, early in the morning by a really bright orange light outside my window. It turned out to be the sun... Ate my choco flakes (yay)... Oh, and then "The Sky Guy" came! Oooh. So yeah, he grunted a bit (well, actually, quite a lot) and managed to cut his hand on our amazing poundland sciscors (that are, to be honest, safe enough for 3 year olds to use). He then mumbled something, and went. Hmmm... I then didn't do much for the rest of the day really. I watched Con Air in the evening for the second time though. It's so good!
Tuesday 25th. Haha, food shopping. ASDA this time :D. Then The Lost Boys in the afternoon, just because Kiefer Sutherland was in it - lol, his hair was amazing. Well, it was alright. The music's awfully addictive also. Then we watched How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days. If you like romcoms, you'll love it! It's so funny! "You're so vain". Oh yes.
Kiefer Sutherland, in "The Lost Boys":
Wednesday 26th. Watched BBBM (hehe), and Spanglish... urgh. It was alright, i guess. I'm just not into that sort of film. And the fact that Adam Sandler was in it didn't make it too much better. Then watched The Nick Of Time. Very good indeed. Johnny Depp!!
Thursday 27th. Watched the starts of loads of rubbish films, and decided to endure one simply because i had nothing better to do. I drew all the way through it anyway. I've suddenly got really into drawing cartoons. Oooh. Then, in the evening, i watched Cat Woman, which was a lot better than i thought it'd be.
Friday 28th. Messed around with Sarah for absolutely ages. We found these old work-out videos so decided to try them in fast forward! Ha! Hilarious. We then watched Two Weeks' Notice. Great film.
Saturday 29th!! Callum's partay! Well, i woke up really late and spent the morning writing my extra long blog post (the one before this), which ended up being 54 pages long! Ha! Anyone that reads it all is amazing! So then i drew for ages, and my sis and i worked on our video! Yay, video. Haha, "The Slipper Moment" in slow-mo!!! "Oh, it must have come from the sky"! lol, what on earth? Well, then my sis went out, so i was really bored and decided to do my mum's mp3 player for her. Aww. Then i played on my gameboy, and did sudoku... Yay. I wrote like 4 numbers in probably about half an hour. So then i was getting all worried about the party and stuff, since Rose was going to be late getting home and i said i'd go with her and i didn't know where he lived... arggh! But then, suddenly, while eating my waffle (mmm... waffle) the phone finally rang and i went out, with Rose, to Callum's house. We were about two hours late, but oh well! So we got there, and Vin and Ellis were singing and stuff. Hehe. So then we went and talked to Rose for ages about loads of stuff. And then it was ice-cream! Yay! The ice-cream van came, and Callum payed for ice-cream for everyone! How. Amazing. It was sooo nice. Then Ellis, Vin and i ventured inside to track down the toilets, and i laughed about the time we'd locked Rose in the toilet at Elliot's birthday party, until the look on Ellis's face told me that it hadn't been Rose we'd locked in there... Ooops. Sorry about that. Then Vin showed me her amazing t-shirt that she'd actually made for Callum :-o. Wow! We then got cakes out of the fridge for Callum's mum (she's really nice!), and Vin went for the massive chocolate cake, commenting that she'd love to just stick her face into it. Haha, who wouldn't? So then we sat down in our little unsocial (is that a word?) corner, which was pretty cool except for falling over every time someone decided to dive head first into the bouncy castle (which was a "Monster inc" Bouncy Castle - that's right, not "Monsters inc"), which was more often than you would have thought. So then we were randomly just watching everyone do their flips and dramatic jumps. We really thought Tom was going to miss the bouncy castle altogether and go over to next door. Ha! Then Ellis decided to go some and get some of the chocolate cake Vin had moved earlier. She put it on the floor as she went to sit down, and Vin stood on it! Hahaha, we couldn't stop laughing!!! After that we all sat round and talked for absolutely ages, which was really fun :D.
Sunday 30th. Watched Out Of Practise. Lol!! Then watched Lost and continued with mine and Sarah's film! So. Funny. Smelly socks?!
Monday 31st. Woke up. Urggh. Watched Russel. Awww. Was going to go into town with Nikki... but she cancelled :(. Will we ever actually go to town together? It seems that the world is against us, and all necessary precautions have been taken so this never actually happens. Oh, life can be so cruel. So i had to wait around all morning for the "window guy" to come. He finally came and Sarah and i ran right to the conservatory, while he was in the living room. And then he then turned up in the garden, so we screamed and ran back to Sarah's room. So we were sitting there, calmly, thinking what a nice day it was and staring thoughtfully out the window when, suddenly, and quite unexpectedly, a head appeared out of no-where! So we ran off screaming yet again. Hehe, he probably thought we were so weird. Well, i ended up going in to town with my sis and mum instead, and bought Rose's birthday present, since i won't see her on her actual birthday :(, and will therefore have to give it to her tomorrow :). So, we were walking cheerfully down to Haze, minding our own business, when, suddenly, a Superman t-shirt appears out of no-where! A superman t-shirt... on a girl :-o!!! So i stared evilly for quite a long time (i did start it), until the guy she was with decided to shout "Ha! You two are sisters", to which my sister was going to reply "no, actually we're brothers!", and wink, (hmmm....) but didn't get the chance. So they walked on, we went to haze... saw some shoes i desperately want (too expenseive), a t-shirt i will not be able to live much longer without (not the right size), and then back up to Claire's etc. Yay. We then returned home and watched Phantom Of The Opera. It was kind of slow in parts, but ok. The songs were cool! And i felt so sorry for the phantom, even though he was evil! Then video making... :D
Just thought i'd put a picture of Russell Brand in here for no real reason at all:
Tuesday 1st! Rose's party! Two parties in four days... wow. Well, on the way there Rose was in the car behind us, and my mum went through a red light. Haha! Well, we eventually actually got there, and it was raining. Arggh! The only two times that i've been out properly in the holidays so far and it's rained.. how typical is that? Well, Rose came to my car door and held the umbrella over me, which was very nice indeed, and which still didn't really keep my dry. Oh well. So we got in, completely soacked after having spent about 2 seconds outside, and i talked to Lucy and Suki for a while :D. Yay. So then Lucy, Ellis and i went into the cinema, to get seats and wait for everyone else, who were probably extremely worried outside and wondering where on earth we'd got to. So we talked about films, which was quite an appropiate topic, i must say, until Rose entered, and everyone else followed. After that, and us laughing at the really annoying adverts (including the Frostie's advert, arggh), the film almost started. Yes, it almost did. There was one of those short films beforehand, called "One Man Band" (or something along the lines of that) and was probably the best part of the whole film, despite not actually being a part of it. Awww, the girl was soo cute! So then the film actually started, and it was quite rubbish. I mean he raced, he made the road, a lot of clichéd and predictable stuff happened, and then he raced again. Some parts were ok, though. Half way through it, Rose suggested the idea of getting up to go to the toilets (thank you!) and Lucy, Ellis, Rose and i all went - that's how boring the film was. We ended up all putting money towards minstrels and maltesers and returned to our seats with some rather funny postcards that we couldn't stop laughing at (and that actually turned out to be a scratch card... wow). So then it took about half an hour to actually open the minstrels, which no-one seemed to get particularly annoyed with (probably because most people had fallen asleep by this point). But we eventually opened them, and just ate and got popcorn (and tissues?! Not used, of course) thrown at us for the rest of the hour that the film dragged on for. Then the film finally ended, and we just complained for ages and got freaked out by the "lady" in the water again, until Lucy's mum was kind enough to give me a lift and i went home.
Wednesday 2nd. Argh. Woke up with a terrible headache. The only thing worse than waking up with a headache is waking up with a headache, and then realising that not only do you have to go to the school uniform shop, get stuck in traffic, hang around for absolutely ages trying on every size because they've decided to change the sizes yet again (kids really aren't that fat), annoy an already extremely grumpy shop assistant (who's grumpiness seems to have no explanation, since it's only 10 in the morning, and not much could really have happened before then...), have everyone else in the shop stare at you, have a long discussion about fluff on jumpers (which, quite suprisingly, didn't actually happen this time), being told the life story of the woman behind the counter, who seems to do nothing useful but complain about her job (also didn't happen this time, but you know...), and finally buy what you came in for, only to realise 4 weeks later, the day before school, that you actually probably should have got something two sizes smaller, but you also have to get home in time for 7th heaven, otherwise everyone will be very annoyed indeed, and it will, obviously, be all your fault. Ok, so maybe i didn't have to stay in bed until 10 and refuse to get up simply on the grounds that it's the holidays, and that i had a headache, and that the idea of going to buy school uniform was one that really does not make you want to jump enthusiastically out of bed in the morning, but one that makes you pull the sheets tighter around you and makes you feel as if you'll take any action, even, i'm very sorry Nikki, violence, to stay away from it. Hmph. Well, i was eventually blackmailed into getting up anyway (i dunno how that seems to happen, every day... i really should be prepared by now). So then i went straight to the uniform shop, and i won't go into the mind-bogglingly (Ha! DNA) boring details, for your sake, and got back in time for 7th heaven (phew, that was close). We then watched Kicking and Screaming, which was really funny, but actually quite scary at the same time. Very good though. Will Ferrell is, quite simply, freaky. I then watched Lost (oooooh), and messed around with my sis for ages. Yay. I then tried to play The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy Game, once again, but it turned out to be way too hard (and involved way too much thiking), for me to be able to get anywhere with. I got killed before i'd even managed to open the curtains. Ah.
Thursday 3rd. Wow, second week nearly over already? Noooo. Well, erm... i did pretty much nothing. I watched Russell :D :D :D, yay, and Ghost Whisperer. Oooh, it was better this week! And started a bit of packing... Yes, you heard right... i was actually bored enough to abandon the rules that i once lived by and actually start to think about what i'm going to take away with me more than one hour before i actually leave. But i had absolutely nothing else to do!!! I may just leave a few things to the last minute though, so the feeling of suspense and exitement remain. Hmmm... Haha, pigeons! "Yeah, i'll do that when the rain glows...". What on earth? And i finally finished the second Dirk Gently novel. Not as good as the first. Well, no-where near as good as the first. But it was still pretty funny, and the ending was still quite clever. Haha "i don't go to mythical places with strange men." I shall write more quotes from it later, just to try once more to get anyone interested in the books i am. In fact, i may just dedicate a whole post for it! Ha, then you'll have even more to read! Aww, sorry about that.
Friday 4th. Wathced 7th Heaven and Scrubs. So funny. Then my uncle called, which meant my mum being on the phone for about an hour, and people from all over the neighbourhood being able to hear a long conversation about boilers etc etc. Then War At Home and IT Crowd, and then packed, kind of...
Saturday 5th. Woke up early. Way too early. Did the last part of my packing (the part where i throw everything into the strongest looking bag in the room, and spend about half an hour just tryin to make it close, and then another half an hour refusing to leave anything behind and having to re-pack all my bags just to make everything fit). Always great fun. So everyone was pretty worn out - me from kicking my bag a lot, and everyone else from actually doing work and planning the holiday - which is always the best mood to be in on a long journey really. So we went to Durham. Oooooh. Shopping :D. There was this amazing little shoe shop, but everything, obviously, was way too expensive. And the shoes i desperately want weren't there :(. Well, we walked around for a while and i bought some socks (ha! How could i not?), and an amazing new hat! I will definitely post a pic of it! So we then took food back to the room. I had a chocolate fudge brownie milk shake. Bad idea. We then played uno, which was so unbelievably funny. The cards were too mini to actually play with (we'd got them free, i think, at somewhere like Centerparcs a few years ago...) and so a lot of cheating was done. Hehe. I then read the whole of Stormbreaker, which i finished the next morning! Ha! So then we were going to go to sleep... Everyone was relaxed, the room was peaceful, the night air refreshing, and nothing could be heard apart from the gentle trickling of water from the river outside, until a deafening scream broke the silence. A spider, it turned out, had made the most of this quiet and relaxing moment, and had decided to walk past Sarah's face. Hahaha, sooo funny! So my mum ran to the rescue, managing to squash it right in the centre of the right side of Sarah's double bed. So, for the whole night, after she'd been so glad to get a double bed, she was forced to only sleep on one side of it. Ahhh, priceless.
Sunday 6th. Slept in (yay, finally!). Well, after leaving a note for the cleaners saying "argh, spider, plese remove" (or something along the lines of that...) we got up and went straight to the castle/cathedral. We'd missed the last tour of the castle by about a minute (why does that always happen?), which was such a shame, so we headed to the cathedral instead. Interesting... Well, then we went on this long quest to find these gardens that were on the map and that apparently were very fun indeed. Sure. We ended up walking for, i think, about two hours, only stopping so Sarah and i could play on this playground that we found half way there. We raced, and we messed about, and we tried to figure out what this strange wooden structure at the edge of the playground was for... Hmmm... Well, after much more walking, we made it to the gardens. So we went in, and bought the tickets (tickets... for a garden? Why?), and the guy at the counter asked our mum if her kids were "under 5", although he could see us and it was pretty obvious we weren't. Well, then we ran around loads and ate shrimps (most amazing sweets ever), and went to this supposed statue of some kind of interesting animal, which turned out to be a cuboid of wood sticking out of the ground. Well, that's modern art for you. We then left, had ice-cream (oooh, caramel magnum) and bought Bruce! Haha, and i'm still not telling you who/what Bruce is. It will remain a mystery... We then went over to Waterstones, where i found, quite to my surprise, that there was a new Artemis Fowl book out :-o!! So i had to get it, since i had my Waterstone's voucher with me and could think of no better book i'd like to buy with it :D. We spent the evening eating chips in our room and the running around the hotel exploring, which always seems to happen, wherever we stay, at one point or another. Well, the place was just like a maze - everywhere looked exactly the same. Well, apart from the "posher" part of the hotel, where the carpets and curtains were much more flowery (i didn't even think it was possible...) and where there was actually enough room for more than two people to walk side by side. We then looked at the menu, walked around the near entrance, saw a computer... Wait, what? A computer? Arggh, maybe life is fair. So we investigated, and found that it was wayy too expensive. Ah, yeah, maybe life isn't. Well, after looking at this amazing umbrella in a display case (which had a price next to it, yet there was no-where you could actually buy it...) we headed back up our room and messed around for ages. Haha, wet cloth fight?! Oooh, card playing.
Monday 7th. Oooh. Woke up late (or what the rest of my family class as "late") and walked around down near the river for a bit. We ended up taking loads of pics and sitting on this strange statue, although i ended up just leaning next to it instead *relives memory of trying to get up onto a rhino statue in Florida and miserably, and rather embarassingly, failing*. Yeah, we'll move on... Well, next we drove down to Alnwick. Oooh. We looked round for a while and then decided to go and find some ice-cream. With my knowledge of iceland ice-creams, i lead the way, and we ended up getting magnums (oooh, the white chocolate ones...). We then went over to our hotel and it was amazing!! Wow. The guy at the desk showed us round everywhere, and then we went to our rooms :D. So. Cool! The only bad things were that there was only one shop in the whole village (argh, how am i going to survive?) and that there was absolutely no-where you could get signal. Ah. Well. We then went down to the beach for ages, and Sarah and i wrote our names in the sand. Haha. Good memories. Then we jumped around a bit in the water, and i was just diving everywhere, getting completely soaked, and Sarah was trying to avoid getting water onto her shorts as much as possible. So what did i do? Oh yes, i started a massive water fight. How could i not? Well, it was hilarious. I love going to the beach :D. We then walked up and down and talked and sung for ages, and then practically ran back to the hotel room for no apparent reason. Fun :D :D. Well, then i just stayed up late reading Artemis Fowl for most of the night. It's way too addictive to put down. Seriously.
The statue thing i didn't even attempt to climb:
Tuesday 8th. We got up early. Way too early. And had breakfast. We were searching for our breakfast table for about 20 mins (it was one of those hotels where they have a table for each different room), until we realised there was a whole other separate, smaller breakfast room. So we got to eat breakfast alone! Amazing. And all the waitresses i think were Russian, and none of them seemed to have yet learnt the english for toast. It was so funny trying to get them to understand what we meant. Well, then we went to Alnwick again. Oooh! And we went to these gardens (yes, more gardens...), which was pretty funny. Just Sarah and me running around a lot and being very random, and a lot of looking at plants... Well, then we went to have dinner in this treehouse. It was amazing! It was an actual restaurant... built in a tree! Wow. And it was one of those restaurants that go way ott with their theme, so the whole thing was built out of wood, and there were lots of plants etc everywhere. So cool. Well, the food didn't live up to the high standard of the decoration. Unfortunately my saying "you can never go wrong with pizza" (ok, it's not really my saying since i've only said it like twice, but just go along with me here) was proven wrong :-o. They seriously must have put special effort into it to make it so bad. Eww. After that, and a walk around these spooky woods (which we later figured out actually had the theme of Alice In Wonderland, which made the disturbing looking rabbits and the playing cards we saw everywhere make a little bit more sense), we went up to Alnwick Castle, which is where parts of Harry Potter were filmed :D. So we went on the "Harry Spotter Tour", and had the best guide ever. He was so funny. Nearer to end of the tour he said "Ok, now i'm going to give an amazing prize to whoever can answer this question-" and was immediately interupted by drilling of some sort that didn't stop until the question was over. The most annoying bit was that a woman on the opposite side appeared to have actually heard the question, and managed to get it right. Lol, ok, i probably wouldn't have known the answer anyway. It was pretty funny though. After that had finished, and we got pretty freaked out by all these really hyper kids randomly charging at thin air nearby, we went and looked round further. Dumbledore, Hagrid, lots of crowds, Kirsty, some sort of joke about mother-in-laws and witches - Wait. Wait a second. Did i just say Kirsty? I did, didn't i? So i spun back round and did a double-take. And, sure enough, she was standing there, with her whole family. After staring for quite a while in disbelief, we managed to walk past and Kirsty and i stuck our tongues out at eachother, since the shock seemed to have taken away our ability to speak. It was so funny. I've never actually seen anyone i know on holiday before (apart from about 5 teachers at Centerparcs *shudders*, and Andy Serkis, also at Centerparcs, if you can count him as someone i know), so it was pretty freaky to see one of my best friends at a caslte in Alnwick. Well, after that we left and looked round the shops. And bought apple crumble. Oooh. We then returned to the room, but the weather had taken an annoying turn for the worse and we therefore decided to stay in the room and play Charades (seriously, how do you spell it?!). It was so funny :D. I love just hanging out with my family. Yeah, anyway, then i read more of Artemis Fowl :D :D (ooh, it's good), and then went to sleep at probably around 11.
My sis and i outside Alnwick Castle:
Wednesday 9th. Got up early and drove to Lindisfarne Island. (Oh, and i had a weird dream about running away from this evil guy and it was snowing and then some Russian men in a helicopter came so we all had to sit cross-legged on the floor. Yeah.). So we walked around it for ages and took loads and loads of pics :D, although it was extremely windy so all the ones of us turned out pretty badly. After that, and Sarah and me singing an awful lot, we went and got chips at Seahouses. You simply cannot go anywhere near to the seaside without getting fish and chips (well, just chips for me...). They're amazing. After quickly going back to the room following that, we made our way out for (what we thought was) a quick and peaceful walk up to Dunstanburgh Castle. We were very wrong. Well, first of all, i had decided for some strange reason to wear my "platforms", which i didn't particularly want to get sand on. After about 5 minutes in i decided to give up on keeping them clean. So we dodged all the balls and all the mad little kids running around, until we finally got to the actual castle and took pics and laughed at golfers. We then started to make our way back. And i don't know whose idea it was, but someone thought it would be better if we didn't go back down the beach, but the other way across the hills. They were very wrong. Well, there must have been a million dogs, all of which managed to make my mum scream and all of which seemed to be very angry for no particular reason. Then there were the hills. Argh. Going up them was the worst bit, because there wasn't really anything for your feet to get a grip on and you were never completely stable. But going down them was soo much fun. We went down it using a method i can only describe as "sand surfing". Hopefully by that you can imagine what i'm talking about. It was amazing. After that we went back to the room and just hung out there for ages. Hehe.
A picture taken (by me...) of Lindisfarne Castle:
Thursday 10th. We woke up early and got the train to Newcastle. Oooh! We just shopped pretty much for the whole day. Ooh, it was pretty amazing. And i bought yet another book :-o. Blink. Anyone heard of it? It's meant to be incredible. The weirdest thing was, while i was looking round the whole of Waterstones, i only picked up two books (which were on completely different sides of the shop) and they were both by the same author (although i didn't realise it at first). Very freaky. Well, yes, i also boguht my amazing rocket dog shoes which i have wanted for ages! I'll post pics definitely!!!! And i got yet another hat. It was on sale though, i think! It's purple and black and pretty hard to describe... Anyway, we then had a Thorntons' ice-cream. Oooh:D. Strawberry. So nice. And returned to the room, where we began packing (or, rather, where everyone else began packing and i instead read Artemis Fowl).
My Amazing Rocket Dog Shoes:
Friday 11th. We left the hotel, for good :(, and went to the Metro Centre :). One of the biggest shopping centres in England. Arggh, heaven. We just shopped loads and loads and messed about and it was generally amazing :) :). After that we went to the Holiday Inn Express, where we ended up sitting in the corridor for about 20mins because the card key things for our rooms didn't work. Well, eventually they sorted it out and we dropped off our stuff before going to the nearby Ikea. Oooh. Ikea's amazing, isn't it? I mean, i don't think we've ever actually bought anything from there, but all the stuff is just so cool. And we saw the manager of the hotel we stay at in Billingham with his gf. It was quite weird. We then went back to the room and stayed up really late watching Big Brother (i think that was the only time i've ever actually stayed up to watch it. We were bored, what can i say?). Oh, and i also wrote all my postcards, which took a rather long time. I really don't like writing postcards as well. Me, being a sort of writer by nature, always feel that i haven't written enough or that it's just completely boring and people won't want to read something that simply says "well, the weather's great. I went down to the beach today." so i end up writing loads in extremely small and extremely messy hand-writing that hardly anyone can actually read. So i think the whole thing's pretty pointless. But it's the thought that counts, right? Well, i hope you liked the postcards all the people that i managed to get addresses off before i went. If you didn't get one, it's either because i didn't ask you for your address before i went away because of my really bad organisation skills when it comes to holidays, or because i simply didn't think you'd particularly appreciate one. Yeah, they're the excuses i'm going with :D.
Saturday 12th. We woke up early only to go and look round a (or what was probably something like a) four-star hotel nearby that my nana had told my mum all about. It was rather cool. Very big. I was a bit distracted a lot of the time though... Annoying distracting people texting me. Hehe. You know i didn't mean that. Well, then we went and met up with my grandad for our usual lunch at the restaurant next to our hotel. Ooh. Brownie ice-cream :D. Amazing. We then went over to my nana and grandad's house (this is my other grandad btw) and went out to walk by the sea etc, which we always seem to do with them at some point. So we were just walking casually along, and my grandad was being as nosey as usual and going over to these people with cameras to see what they were up to, when a massive pink balloon blew past. I was like: "Arggh, i soo want it", and so Sarah and i began to run after it. I leaped at it and missed. Sarah went to grab it but a huge gust of wind blew it away from her and off into the distance. We were just about to walk back, disappointed and balloon-less when a glint of hope came walking round the corner. Or rather, a man and (i assume) his sister. She attempted to catch it, but completely missed. And then he leaped for it, making an impressive dive that went on for what seemed like a minute (this, of course, was all in slow motion), and managed to catch it, barely missing jumping into the sea. So he came over to us, handed the balloon to me and said "I'll never play for england". Aww. So i got my balloon and was all happy and we went back to my nana and grandad's house (after discovering that the guys with the cameras were actually there to film some sort of special bird that only comes out in really stormy weather...). And that was my day :D.
Sunday 13th. Went round to my auntie and uncle's (Margaret and Dave's) house for a while, and just talked about general stuff. We then went over to my nana and grandad's house for dinner, where my other uncle (Robert) was. He's almost always late for dinner, so my nana and grandad now tell him that dinner's at least an hour earlier than it actually is, in the hope that he turns up on time. After dinner we played our usual game of cards, and then found this massive spider (i will definitely post pics), that pretty much everyone at some point screamed at. Then we went back round to my auntie and uncle's, which is always funny, and heard all the stories about Mark and Laura (my two cousins). My auntie also told us this story of when she was at a party with my uncle once. And it was one of those parties where you get sat next to people you don't know. So she was sat next to this man, who was polite but slightly arrogant, and who constantly referred to her as "dear". Well, the menus were given out and everything was in french. So he took it upon himself to explain to her what everything meant, and she listened and nodded. The funny thing is that she's actually a french teacher. And he didn't even bother to ask what she did (until later, of course). Stories like that make me laugh.
The massive Spider that we caught (and then, obviously, set free..). Eww:
Monday 14th. We got up early and went shopping in Middlesbrough. Very funny. Argos. Haha (personal joke...). Yeah, we then saw my nana and grandad again, played cards (which i actually won for once), and then went round to one of my uncle's many houses. He buys houses and makes them up and then lets people rent them. It's quite funny, because he has about 4 but doesn't actually have a house of his own (he lives with his gf). Well, we then drove out to see the horse we always go to visit! Ooh, yay. I'm pretty sure its name was Dobin, or something like that anyway. So we fed stuff to it, and took pictures of it (although it ran away when Sarah came near it. Hehe. I'll make no comments there...). Oh, and then i broke my favourite bracelet :(. Well, it actually just fell apart all by itself. Grr.
Me (wearing my diamond jumper thing from H&M - the one Redd and i both desperately wanted when we were in London which i later bought :D), and the horse. Awww:
Tuesday 15th. We got up early, and after hanging out in the room for a while, and reading Blink quite a lot (at this point i'd finished Artemis Fowl), which is life-changing (yeah, it really is), we went to this Chinese restaurant we always go to when we go to Billingham. It's soo nice. I really want the walls... After that we took a trip down to Redcar, where Keira Knightly's filming her new film (see, interesting things do happen around Billingham). We took pics and walked around etc. It was very cool indeed. Later on in the evening, when my mum and nana had gone out for their usual walk, my sis, my grandad and me stayed in to play cards. As always. Now, when we come to Billingham, there is a guarentee that there will always be at least one moment in the whole holiday that makes Sarah and me laugh uncontrollably until we actually start cry. And that moment happened then. My grandad leaned over to put down a card, knocked his cup of tea slighlty, went to stop it from tipping over and, in the process, managed to pour it's contents all over my feet and the floor. It was the most hilarious thing ever. So i had to borrow two pairs of his socks, which were wayy too big: one when i first had the tea poured on my feet, and the other when i managed to step in the tea again about 5 mintues later. Haha. After that we drove round Wynard Park which is where the biggest houses i have ever actually seen can be found. They're huge! Some of them had over 4 garages!! Well, yes, lots more pics were taken... and then we went for a walk in these woods. It seemed a nice enough place, until we started hearing whispering and the cracking of twigs. I felt like i was in lost :-o. So Sarah and i made the most of it and ran around and took really freaky pics (i got some pretty funny ones of Sarah, although i probably won't be allowed to actually put them on here. Oh well...).
A picture i saw on the wall of my grandparents' house, which i'm sure i drew for them when i was little. Hehe:
Wednesday 16th. We went shopping, yet again. You'd think we're be sick of it by now, wouldn't you? Ha! Well, yes, i saw some shoes that were absolutely amazing. But too expensive. Argh. We then went to this place where my mum used to hang out when she was a teenager. It was rather cool, and completely deserted. After that we sort of said goodbye to everyone before driving home again. We then looked at all the pics on the TV, had Chinese and i went online/texted people who i'd desperately missed... no names mentioned.
Me, on a bridge. Oooh:
Thursday 17th. First day back. And i think i may actually have missed Derby. I do love this place, despite it raining all the time and there not being much to do... So i watched Young Guns, just because it had Kiefer Sutherland in it. They all ended up getting killed at the end. Great. So i went out to meet Rose at around 6 and she filled me in on all the gossip. Wow. So much can happen in a week. So then i filled her in on everything that's been happening with me. And she gave me a fortune cookie, which said i was "acting very wisely". Well, that's reassuring. So then i was just telling her who i liked, all the problems i have and why i was so confused. Argh, things can never be simple with me, can they? Well, we met up with Henry, and, after a while, Elliot joined us. We didn't know where Kirsty had gotten to, so we were walking up to her house until we were stopped by the dad of (i think) the drummer of Element 104. So he stood talking to us for about half an hour (or probably more), trying to get us to come to his son's next gig. Hmm... Well, it was pretty freaky and he actually started dancing at one point (this was while he was attempting to sing one of Element 104's songs). Yeah... Then Kirsty came, and we went back into the village where a lot of private conversations took place, and also a lot of hinting (mostly done by Kirsty). Then we went and played with my bouncy ball, until it annoyingly bounced over a fence and i never saw it again... Well, yes, it then started raining. More private conversations. Many more. Kirsty left because Elliot called her tall or something and was being rather insulting. We then went down to near Sophie's house, where Sophie and Becky were and talked to them for ages. It was pretty funny, if not a bit confusing. Well, then i had to go :(. I wanted to stay longer, but i couldn't... So i walked away, feeling slightly disappointed and even more confused than i had been before. Urgh. Well, it was extremely dark, and i was frantically trying to hold my umbrella and make a phone call at the same time. And it turned out i didn't have any credit left. Great. Well, i was getting rather scared and i was sure i could hear footsteps behind me, when a car drove up next to me and scared me half to death. Luckily it was my dad, mum and sis who had just been to pick my sis up. I got in. I went home. I went on msn. Arggh.Friday 18th. Felt so unbelievably ill. Got up. Urggh. Went back to bed. That was pretty much my whole morning. So then everyone went out curtain shopping (shame i missed it...) and i was sat in bed for ages, getting a million texts and being so annoyed that i couldn't actually reply to any of them (why is it that you run out of credit at the worst times?). Yeah, so i had a cold. A really really bad one, as it turns out. Being out for ages in the rain yesterday probably didn't help really, did it? Well, having a cold has got to be one of the most annoying things ever. I mean, first of all, you can hardly actually talk. Even if you're lucky enough to get off without having a sore throat, you still have the whole blocked nose, everything comes out sounding like "m"s and "b"s thing (you know what i'm talking about, right?). Very annoying. So no-one can actually tell what you're saying, and you're left pretty much talking to a brick wall. A brick wall that smiles sweetly, nods its head continuely and says "yeah" at the most inappropiate places, in an annoyingly different tone each time. Great. So then it comes to their side of the conversation (finally, they think), and you can't hear a word they're saying either because your ears have decided to hurt (is that weird?), and you have more important things to worry about, like not sneezing over everyone, and trying to keep the floor as far away from you as it currently is. Hard to do. So you decide to try their mehtod: nod a bit, add a few "yeah"s here and there, maybe even risk an "ooh" or an "ahh" for effect. It doesn't really work. Both of you eventually give up the actual talking part of the conversation, since it doesn't seem to be getting you anywhere, and decide instead maybe to go and watch The Cable Guy. Haha, yeah, that'll be much better. Suddenly your cold doesn't feel as bad, but you're still left upset and disappointed that you didn't get to go out with your friends (who apparently came to the door while you were in bed. Urgh, illness), and unable to do anything worthwhile other than moan a lot and go moping around the house searching for a box of tissues that isn't empty. Yeah. So, after finally giving up on the tissues and realising there was actually a full box in Sarah's room (which you should really have realised, since you only threw it at her yesterday in an attempt to get her off her phone for one second. Well, your head seems at the moment to be too blocked up to deal with anything that complicated at this point, so you ignore the tissues and decide that later would probably be a better time to complain), the Sharps "guy" came, who actually turned out to be a woman! Ha! We were right. Anyway... Sarah and i took our usual place upstairs: far away enough so we aren't seen, but not too far that we can't hear what's going on. Perfect. So i contiued with my juggling (which ending in me mostly throwing stuff at sarah... wait, doesn't everything end in that? Yeah...), which apparently made a whole lot of noise (i was doing a lot more dropping than catching, it turns out), and got me into a whole lot of trouble. Oops. So then i read my amazing book once more. Oooh. And that was that.
Saturday 19th. Felt worse. Arggh. And the only thing worse than waking up and realising that how you felt yesterday was nothing compared to how you feel today (and also worse than realising you're going to get school uniform, actually - if you don't get what i'm talking about, i'm guessing you skipped past the first part of this post.. tut tut.) is having to wake up at "some unearthly hour" (as Henry would say), to realise it, because some builders are standing outside your window banging something really loudly with a hammer, or whatever it is that they do. So i was forced to get up once more, without having at least annoyed everyone else in the house in the process (which is an added bonus). Hmph. I sometimes think my mum wants the builders there just simply so she doesn't have to spend hours in the morning dragging me out of bed and hoping that she doesn't come out of it too injured. Anyway... my day. Watched the Big Brother Final. Ooooh. Pete won. Of course. How could he not? And for all you people out there who thinks big brother is pointless, i should really explain the reason that it is not. Well, hmm... that's not really going to work is it? (Haha, i'm talking to myself yet again) Well, i mean, i am kind of of that opinion myself. It isn't really that interesting, apart from when they have to do really random tasks like to portray the emotions "happiness" "confusion", "jealousy" and "the slight bewilderment when a small puppy doesn't come to you when you call it" through the medium of dance (Haha, i really am never going to forget that). Well, the only reason i really watch it is for Russell to be honest. Him kicking the audience and calling people "swines". Hehe. Got to love his fashion sense also. Waistcoats. Oh yes. And his hair's rather cool. Oh, wait, i'm getting sidetracked. What was i talking about? Oh yes, the reason Big Brother isn't pointless. Ermmm... Well... Hmmm... I was going to say something about observing the psychological affects that living in such a comfined space has, how each housemate goes on a different journey and comes out a better person, and how living in the big brother house is almost like a shorter, and much more intense version of life itself that can be analysed and may end up helping us make new breakthroughs in the study of human behaviour which may therefore go on to make the world a better place, but i really can't be bothered. And anyway, it does get a bit boring at points, and people like Aisleyne really annoy me. Anyway, then it was 8 out of 10 Cats. Jimmy Carr! So funny. Then we watched Father of the Bride. One of THE best films ever. So funny. Haha, the wedding planner "Ooh, this is nice. We'll change it all", "Hallo!!". Love his accent. Haha. Then did absolutely nothing for a lot of the day, which certainly beat the time spent watching big brother this morning (ok, just kidding, i do actually think big brother is ok), and then watched The Fugitive. Also one of THE best films ever. Clever. Very clever. I'd recommend it.
Sunday 20th. OooooOoooOooOOOOooOOooooOOooOOOOOoh. Yes. Well... hmm... I woke up, watched Scrubs (Dr.Acula, haha), and The War at Home. ... Then we went to the cinema (arggh, Sarah and i) to see John Tucker Must Die. Not as violent as you might think. Anyway, we waited for ages for the film to begin, which was pretty funny as the music had decided not to play (always something goes wrong, doesn't it?). So you could hear pretty much everything everyone was saying, and i decided to do an impression of a silent lamb (quite hard, really) while Sarah decided to be extremely nosey and ask me questions about a certain someone. *Very quickly changes subject* Wow, those asterisk thingys are fun to stare at. Anyway, the film was good. Very good. Oooh, forget John Tucker, what about his brother? Haha. Well, it was funny! "You're perfect Kate... and so far not flammable". Aww, how sweet. So then we headed over to the bowling alley, which took a rather long time since i'd decided to wear my new shoes and am yet to learn how to walk in them without tripping up. My jeans are too long. That is the problem. I need my "platforms". Well, then we played pool, and Sarah attempted to teach me how it worked. Hmmm... I ended up hitting her in the face with the "stick thingy" (as i shall call it), and then almost breaking the light above the table. Why put one there? Really. They're asking for trouble... So then we started again, and i got to go first. Yay. So, while Sarah was looking in the opposite direction, i took my shot and managed to completely miss all the balls and pot the white. She turned round, only to look extremely puzzled and say "is that even possible?". You know, i didn't think it was. I don't know how i managed it. So Sarah beat me, twice (not much surprise there really), and we moved on to what i thought was an easier game. Air hockey. Finally. Well, that wasn't as bad. I only almost broke my wrist and managed to make the puc fly off the table and just barely miss someone. Ah. Well, Sarah beat me at that too, and then we moved onto the dance machine. Aww, i'd missed it. I hadn't danced in ages. And i think you could tell. Sarah, once again, beat me. Hmph. Well, apart from losing at everything it was one of the best days of the holidays so far. And i got an amazingly long text from someone which made me smile even more :D :D.
Monday 21st. Ooh, well, we watched a double Lost. So good. I can't believe how addictive it actually is. Well then, later on, after a whole load of doing nothing, i went out into the village with Rose and Elliot and Henry. It started out by being rather awkward. We played cards. That was funny. Everyone seemed a bit quiet. We then walked up to the shops and bought chocolate. I was kind of trying to stay with Rose as much as possible... But then i was alone with Henry for a bit and we talked and then he asked me out :D :D :D. Argh, and i said yes. And we told Rose and Elliot and everyone was all happy until the drummer from Element 104's dad appeared again out of no-where and wouldn't leave us alone. Hmph. Well, then some chavs came and then i unfortunately had to leave, yet again :(. Ah. Well, it was a good day anyway :D.
Tuesday 22nd. We dropped my sis off at school (my mum and i, this is) and went off to Tesco, where my mum scared this salesman half to death by talking to him in french. Sooooo funny. We then watched Flight of the Pheonix with Dennis Quaid in it. It was alright. I then hung out with Sarah for ages and we did more on our video. Haha.
Wednesday 23rd. Town. Suit shopping. Argh. One of the most boring things ever. Well, watching lost later on slightly made up for it i guess.
Thursday 24th. Wooo, results day!! Ahhh! The conversations of the morning mostly started with Sarah screaming "Arggh, i'm soo worried, i dunno what to do" and us eventually realising that she was actually talking about deciding what she was going to wear, and not her results. Hmmm... So we dropped her off at school, and went home to wait for her to give us the inevitably good news. And it was amazing. Her results were:
English - B
Literature - B
ICT - A
Child development - A
Business studies - A
French - A
Biology - A
Chemistry - A*
Physics - A*
Maths - A*
Statistics - A*
So well done Sarah! Not only did she do amazingly well, but she also managed to make the front of the paper :-o. So, my mum and i went to buy a copy, and as we were paying for it, the guy said to me "hey, isn't that you on the front of the paper?" Ha! So i was like "noo, it's my older sis." And then, later, my sis went into the same shop, with the same guy serving, to buy a copy of the same paper, and he says to her "hey, isn't that your sis on the front of the paper?" lol!! Honestly. Well, after that i went out to meet Kirsty, Henry, Elliot and, i hoped, Rose (but she turned out to be busy). So we stood in the cinema for a while, trying to figure out if we'd get into Snake On A Plane or not, and being sprayed by Kirsty's fish. Yeah, i won't go into detail on that one. So then an arguement broke out between Elliot and Kirsty. Always one has to, doesn't it? Well, Kirsty ended up walking off (and going home), and the rest of us went to the bowling alley :D, where we bumped into my sis. So we decided to annoy her for ages, which seemed to work quite well. Her and all of her friends of course had gotten into Snakes On a Plane. Apparently it was alright. Just a load of snakes on a plane really, which was to be expected... We then left them after Sarah threatened us with taking more extremely embarassing photos of us with her camera. So we went into the bowling alley and actually decided to bowl :D. Yay. It was very funny, although i'm pretty sure i came last! We then had food, which was interesting... (i think using the word "nice" would be going a big ott there). After that we played pool. It was Elliot and me against Henry, since Henry's so good. And we won, although i let Elliot do most of the work :D. We then played ice hockey, and it was usually Elliot and me against Henry. Hehe. Slightly painful. And then i managed to get them both to go on the dance machine. And it was the funniest thing i have ever witnessed! They both are quite good though :D. We then played on the 10p machines, which are always fun despite the fact that you never seem to win anything. And then i had to go. Was quite an amazing day. I then got home to find that the phone had been ringing non-stop for Sarah (congratulations from pretty much every member of our family). Go Sarah :D!
Friday 25th. Spent all morning trailing around town looking at every suit there is in Derby for women. How. Boring. And then, after hours of looking round and trying stuff on, we went back and bought one in the first shop we'd gone in! Typical! After that we watched She's The Man, which was alright, followed by Edward Scissorhands! Amazing film, although the ending was soo sad! Then, yet another film: Speed! So good. Watch it, if you get the chance.
Saturday 26th. Woke up and then sat around for ages while Sarah opened her many "well done on your results" cards. Aww. She definitely deserved them all :D. Well, yeah, then we played draughts since i randomly went looking for the draughts board, and, in a surprising turn of events, actually found it. And Sarah is one of the most challenging people to play, since she knows how i think/can somehow read my mind. It's very scary. We once had a conversation in our heads (or have i mentioned that before?). Hmm... Well, i think she won anyway, using her mysterious telepathic powers. I feel kind of sorry for her. I mean, out of all the people's minds she could have been able to read, she was given the power to read mine. It really isn't that interesting in there to be honest. All those moments where i sort of fade off into the distance and ignore the world around me, i'm not thinking of the meaning of life or pondering on some sort of philosophical question that mankind is yet to answer. I'm actually usually thinking about absolutely nothing. Or just something completely random that is of no use to anyone really, especially myself, but beats listening to a science teacher go on about compounds and chemical formulas etc. Eww, i must stop talking about school. I will move on... Actually, there isn't really anything to move on to.That was pretty much my day...
Sunday 27th. Did my posters for absolutely ages. I think i must have re-arranged them at least 4 times, just in the morning. And i'm still not happy with them. Grr. We then were forced into watching Prehistoric Park. Well, ok, maybe i just had nothng better to do... Well, it was absolutely hilarious anyway. It guess it's one nature programme you can do without the risk of actually getting hurt by any of the animals. Haha. And he was looking at this T-Rex or something, when he said a Steve Irwin ( :( ) style "what a beauty". My mum was like "i wonder what his wife looks like then...". Lol. Erm... I think you had to be there. Well, then i just hung out with my sis for ages, which is always funny.
Monday 28th. Did hardly anything. Watched Sleepy Hollow. And it was no where near as scary as i thought it was. Just some guy with no head, and Johnny Depp :D. Pretty good. Sarah and i then just did more on our video. Hahahaha.
Tuesday 29th. Got up too early (early = 9, too early = 8, wayy too early = 7 - usually, that is), and went into town. I got Dashboard Confessional's new album. Ooooh. And we ended up spending about half an hour just looking round beds. Always interesting. There are a lot of really bad bed salesmen in Derby though. It has to be said. Well, yes, we finally chose one :D. Then in the afternoon we watched In Her Shoes. It was terrible. And really really boring. Then more videoing etc.
Wednesday 30th. Argh. Woke up early to get my hair cut. Urgh... I tried my usual methods of pretending to be too ill to get up, being extremely grumpy and annoying everyone and, when all else failed, simply running away and going to hide in a cupboard. None of which ever works - i don't know why i waste my time. Well, we went straight to Chaplin's :D, where you're instantly greeted by the cutest yet scariest dog i have ever seen jumping up at you and sniffing you a lot. It usually gets bored/decides that you don't smell good enough after a few minutes though and goes back to lounging moodily in its corner. Phew. Well, then i had to wait ages while my sis had her hair cut. I always have to go second. At least that way when the hair dresser asks you how you want it cut, you can point to your sister and say "well, i definitely don't want it like that!". Haha, no, i'm just kidding. Her hair always ends up looking better than mine anyway. So i just talked to my mum for ages about stufff (it was mainly me complaining about life etc in general, and her reassuring me that it'll only get worse...), until they called me in to have my hair cut. Oh no. Well, after she'd listened to the long description of how i wanted my hair cut and had decided to completely ignore it all, she started with asking me about school etc. And she always seems to think that i'm about 2 years older than i actually am. When i went to get my hair cut in summer last year she started asking how my GCSE results went! And this time she was asking me about college! Argh, i'm only in yr10. Hehe, well, yes, it all went pretty well. It's always funny to listen to all the hairdressers gossiping etc. I bet being a hairdresser is pretty fun. I would be really rubbish at it though. Well this time i actually think my hair's ok for once. That probably means it's not. After that (and washing my hair/straightening it etc etc, which always seems to lead to me being more convinced that my hair turned out to be a complete disaster - this time seemd to be no exception) I watched 7th Heaven and Scrubs, and Lost!! Argh, who would have guessed that? Well, you'll see what i mean when you watch it. Hmmm...
Thursday 31st. Managed to put up with the builders up to 10 o'clock this morning. Go me! It's getting easier. Trailed around the house for a while... Mum and Sis were watching The Descent. Lots of screaming. Arggh. So i ran upstairs and hid for ages, and texted people :D. Yay. And then town. Ooooh. So Henry was there first :D:D:D, and i told him about my slightly weird dream (just slightly weird...): Well, i lived in the London Underground, and i was a superhero (Supergirl, to be more exact :D). So i was walking around one day, doing the usual things. I said hi to Spiderman as i passed (who was, quite strangely, having dinner with his mum. She was nice.) when, out of no-where, this psycopath comes and grabs my bag. Hmm... right "do you know who i am?". No, it doesn't look like you do. So, instead of demonstrating my amazing super powers (which i unfairly did not get any chance to demonstrate during my whole dream. Hmph. What other point is there to being a superhero?), i just had this massive, dramatic fight with the guy and made him, eventually, give it back. Hehe, it felt quite good. And then there was something about a bomb... Argh, can't i have a good dream? Hmmm... well, if dreams do actually mean anything, then i think i have good reason to be worried right now. I also had another dream about me flying, yet again. I mean, who doesn't have that dream? But i must say, i'm not too good at it. So in dreams, the one place where you can defy any law you want, do absolutely anything, be absolutely anything... what does my subconscious mind decide? Well, that it wants to be a superhero without powers who lives in the London Underground and a completely rubbish flyer who ends up almost drowing in this rather large pond. Great. Well, then everyone else turned up: Tom, Elliot, Sophie, Redd and Vin. Niki and Suki couldn't make it, it seemed :(. So we went into Reveal for a while, and Elliot listened to some guy screaming about death etc. Yeah, so original. We then all decided to go down to Mondo. We split into two groups: Vin, Redd and Tom, and Sophie, Elliot, Henry :D, and me. Our group stopped half the way down, when Sophie and Elliot decided to make conversation with this Czech Republican accordian player. Lol, you can imagine how well it went! We talked to him in german, and found that his name was something that sounded strangely like "Teabowl" (but turned out, apparently, to be "Tebo" instead), and that he was 63!! He then started smoking, and his two sons (or two guys that i assumed to be his sons) turned up. They turned out to be quite helpful in translating, at least. So we tried to tell him our names, and when i said Cathy, one of Tebo's "sons" went "Ahh, Catherine Zeta Jones!" Haha. Then, after Tebo started to play his accordian again, and Sophie and Elliot did some random dances, we left (after having been there for about 40 mins) and headed down to meet the others at Greggs. Then, after getting very wet, we finally made it into Mondo - Elliot got a tie (the one i wanted, but oh well!), and i saw the most amazing belt ever!!! Star Wars!! Ahh!! After that i had to go, so everyone kindly walked back up with me :D. Then we watched Reunion for the first time... very depressing! And i knew that was Hayley!! Hmph.
Friday 1st. Mum and dad's anniversary! Well, while my dad was at work we had to go bed shopping, once again. Argh. It turns out the one that we'd picked before was no good for some reason or another, so we had to find a new one. We finally found another one that we liked (after a lot of jumping on beds and no doubt annoying pretty much all the bed sales-people in Derby), and then went home and watched Herbie. It was ok. It had Justin Long in it though :D, which made it a whole lot better. We then (after my dad had come home) got Chinese and talked for ages. It was very fun indeed.
Saturday 2nd. Hmmm... Had a weird dream that i was on the Lost island, and we all got rescued. And then i had another one where i was on a horse and i was trying to save this girl. So we were riding away from the evil guys (who were also on horses, of course) and then i suddenly seemed to think it was a good idea to ride straight into this giant pond (what's with me and ponds?)... Well, i looked it up on this dream site (my anti-virus thing always seems to always block the best sites, out of choice to be annoying rather than for any logical reason, it seems), and here is its interpretation of pond: 1)A small emotional issue that requires attention 2) Stagnation in any area of your life 3) Something you need to consider, think about, pond-er. Haha, pond-er. Ermmm... Small emotional issue? I think i have a lot of those. Hmm... All the interpretations for horses are about power and American Indians... Should i be worried now? Well, anyway, in the morning i read my amazing book. I shall maybe go into a more detailed description of it later (just to make this a bit longer for you :D). Then i played on The Sims 2 for the first time in absolutely ages!! And you really can't just play on The Sims for a few minutes now can you? Yeah, ok, that's partly because it takes about half an hour to load, and if you don't pay attention to it for even a few moments it'll cause a huge "system error" (as Window's call it - they have to have a name for it, of course, because it happens so often) leaving you waiting for your pc to re-start for absolutely ages and then for another additional half an hour while the game turns back on, all just because you popped out of the room to fetch your phone. Honestly. I think i spend more time drawing, writing, texting, maybe doing a bit of sudoku (if i get that bored) whilst waiting for everything to load than i do actually playing the game. Well anyway, the other reason for you not being able to turn it off is because it's incredibly addictive. Incredibly addictive. You find yourself losing all sense of time and completely ignoring everything around you, and you even find yourself at one point giving up on a perfect opportunity to annoy Sarah. Madness. But it's very fun anyway. Well, that took up most of my day. In the evening i watched "Our House". Ben Stiller. Ha! So funny. It was one of those films where you can just about predict what's coming next by thinking of the worst possible situation that they could get themselves into. Well, anyway, does anyone else think that the film "Night at the Museum" looks amazing? We must go see that.
Sunday 3rd and Monday 4th. Hmmm... Did not much really to be honest. That was pretty fun. But then i had to start preparing for school etc etc. Urgh, the hols went too quick.
Quotes of the Summer (haha):
"We'll be sure to cross our "t"s and dot our... lower case "j"s."
"So, would you like to have dinner one night?"
"Oh, I like to have dinner every night."
"You do what I tell you. When I say, "move" you move. When I say "stop" you stop. When I say "jump", what do you say?"
"You first."
"That smugness of yours really is an attractive quality."
"Thank you. It was either that or get my hair highlighted. Smugness is easier to maintain."
CORRIEARKLET (n.): The moment at which two people approaching from opposite ends of a long passageway, recognise each other and immediately pretend they haven't. This is to avoid the ghastly embarrassment of having to continue recognising each other the whole length of the corridor.
"I think your argument is specious."
"I think your tie is ugly."
The barman gives you a cheese sandwich. The bread is like the stuff that stereos come packed in, the cheese would be great for rubbing out spelling mistakes, and margarine and pickle have combined to produce something that shouldn't be, but is, turquoise. Since it is clearly unfit for human consumption you are grateful to be charged only a pound...
“What’s wrong with him?”
“He got hit by a bullet.”
“What? He was shot?”
“No. Someone threw it at him...”
"I christen this, Duke the second!"
*smashes beer bottle on canoe*
"Thanks for breaking glass where my kids play."
Favourite Sarah quotes of the month:
"Someone wise once told me... to shut up"
"it's better to make people think you're stupid... then they'll be more surprised when you kill them" *Evil smile*
And Reunion is amazing, you should all watch it :D :D.
(Above: The cast of Reunion)
"It took you 21 years to find the right guy?"
"No, it took me 14 years to find the right guy. It took you 21 years to find me."
(Just to point out, some, or maybe even all, of this blog post may either have too many gaps in certain places, or not enough. This is entirely the annoying blogging website's faults, and if any of you have any idea about how to stop this from happening, please let me know. Argh.) Well, that was my amazing 6 week hols :D. I know it will probably be a very long time after the hols that this actually gets posted, but leave me comments anyway! Let me know what you did too! Ooh, and let me know if there's any ways i can make it better, any things about it you particularly like/didn't like, or if you have any other suggestions... Thanks. Cya xXx (i'll try and post something a bit more recent soon :D).
